Working on Wellbeing

Working on Wellbeing is an employment training and support programme for disabled people in Wales, designed to help individuals explore and achieve their career goals through personalised support. Within this programme, we offer a tailored pathway for those beginning to consider routes into volunteering, employment, or further training. It provides a combination of small group training and one-to-one mentoring, ensuring support is adapted to individual needs at every stage of the journey.

Legacy In The Community will support you to:

• Understand your career goals
• Grow in confidence, assertiveness and independence
• Write your CV
• Develop your interview skills
• Find and apply for volunteering, training or employment opportunities
• Talk about disability in the workplace

Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Provision

Our ALN provision supports young people aged 16+ to build confidence, workplace awareness, communication skills and greater independence through practical, tailored learning.
Delivered within schools, colleges and specialist settings, sessions are shaped around individual needs, abilities and interests, combining employability support with real-world learning experiences. This includes our VR programme, designed to give learners a safe and supported way to practise everyday situations before experiencing them in real life.
In the last 12 months, we have supported 50+ young people through our ALN work and developed relationships with 10+ schools and specialist provisions, including 3 fully ALN settings.
We are now looking at how this provision can grow further, reaching more learners, developing new practical learning experiences and creating stronger pathways towards volunteering, training, employment and greater independence.

Period Dignity Proejct

Just in Case is our period dignity project, made possible with £12,000 funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.
The project provides free, discreet and stigma-free access to period products across Merthyr Tydfil, Powys and West Wales through trusted community venues and our Just in Case pouches.
Community and volunteer-led, the project is about removing barriers, protecting dignity and making sure people can access essential products when they need them.

INCLUDE

INCLUDE is a Legacy in the Community project focused on bringing together local employers, agencies, partners and people with lived experience to encourage more inclusive workplaces across Wales.
Developed through our Working on Wellbeing programme, delivered in partnership with Scope and funded by Welsh Government, INCLUDE supports conversations around disability inclusion, accessible recruitment, workplace support and the Disability Confident scheme.
Following the success of our first INCLUDE event, which welcomed engagement from DWP and Welsh Government Disabled People’s Employment Champions, we hope to continue developing future INCLUDE events and opportunities for shared learning, practical guidance and partnership working.
We are keen to hear from organisations and individuals who would like to support the future delivery of INCLUDE. This could include hosting an event, sponsoring activity, attending as an employer, sharing professional insight, or speaking about lived experience to help others better understand the importance of inclusive workplaces.
